Export your AI chats in Australia

ChatExports turns the official data export from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Poe, Grok, Copilot, NotebookLM and Google AI Studio into Word, PDF or Markdown files. Everything runs inside your browser tab, so nothing leaves your device and nothing crosses a border. This page is written for readers in Australia: AUD pricing guidance, the Privacy Act context and Australian spelling (organise, colour, licence) throughout the guides.

Step-by-step guide for readers in Australia

  1. Request your data export Each provider has an export button in settings — ChatGPT under Settings → Data controls, Claude under Privacy, Gemini through Google Takeout. Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles the provider has to give you a copy, and they satisfy that with a machine-readable file, usually a ZIP containing JSON.
  2. Wait for the download link Providers email a link, typically within minutes but sometimes up to 24 hours. Save the ZIP somewhere you can find it. Do not unzip it unless you want to — the converter reads either the ZIP or the conversations.json inside it.
  3. Open the converter and drop the file in Go to the converter and drag your export onto the page. Parsing happens in your browser: no upload, no server, no queue. You will see your conversation list, dates and message counts straight away.
  4. Filter down to what you actually need Search by keyword, filter by date range (DD/MM/YYYY in Australian guidance) or topic, and preview any thread before you export it.
  5. Unlock and download Pay once — roughly A$15 for the single platform you use, roughly A$38 for all nine — and download individual documents or the whole archive as a ZIP. There is no subscription and no renewal.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay in AUD?

Checkout is in US dollars and works with any Australian card. roughly A$15 and roughly A$38 are approximate conversions — your bank's rate on the day is what you are actually charged.

Is my conversation data sent anywhere in Australia?

No. The export file is read, parsed and converted inside your browser tab on your own device. There is no upload step, so there is no cross-border transfer to consider under the Privacy Act.

Do I need to install anything?

No. ChatExports is a web page, not a browser extension, so there is nothing to install, nothing to keep updated and no extension permissions over your chat pages.

Which platforms are covered?

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Poe, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, NotebookLM and Google AI Studio. The roughly A$38 option covers all nine forever.

Is this legal advice for the Privacy Act?

No. We are a converter. the Privacy Act gives you the right to a copy of your data; we make that copy readable. We are not a party to your request and we do not advise on it.
